(Child's name here) loved to read about fairies; and she was always hoping that some day she might even see one, for she believed in fairies with all
her heart. When she went to bed at night, she would sometimes leave a
doll's saucer of sugar on the window sill for any hungry little elf that might be about. Now one evening when it was rather chilly for the time of year, she
had filled ten little acorn cups with honey, and set them down in a row for the little people to carry away if they wished. Of course, all this pleased the
fairies very much; and that night, as they sat round in a ring sipping the
honey just to please their little friend, they said to each other.
